Students are required to attend all sessions in the laboratory course. The final grade will be evaluated from the gradings of class participation, including pre-class learning and the laboratory notes, and the reports.

概要
The aim of this practical course is to obtain knowledge about biological macromolecules such as proteins, lipids and carbohydrates. Students extract these molecules from living organisms, purify them and analyse their activities. Through these experiments, students learn properties of the macromolecules and understand relationship between their chemical nature and biological functions. This course is one of the Department Core Courses and the compulsory elective courses (for third-year student or higher), and is designed to acquire the ability to contribute to the creation of substances ranging from small organic molecules to biological macromolecules (Curriculum Policy #3).
目標
The objectives are to understand features of biological macromolecules by working on them and obtain deeper understanding of living phenomena. Student obtain the ability to systematically understand the fundamental of materials and life based on the biochemistry, and contribute to development of functional biomolecules and technology in related fields (Diploma Policies #2, 3).
授業外の学習
Students are required to complete pre-lab learning about backgrounds and draw a flowchart of experimental procedures (70 min). Students need to revise the experimental procedures and the obtained results after each session, and submit reports based on the experimental data and the literature survey after each theme of experiment (2 hours).

- Enzyme-2: Measurement of LDH enzyme activity
- Enzyme-3: Data analysis
