概要

Why does the aircraft fly? How is it built? Those are the two basic questions in this course. Students will be taught the basics of aerodynamics, aircraft elements, and flight mechanics. We are going to devote a few classes to space flights. The course follows curriculum policy 2, learning fundaments of mechanical engineering in English; curriculum policy 4 by applying the abilities to “manufacturing and system building”.

目標

The course is intended to give a general view of physics, concepts, and theories so that students will be able to - recognize, name, and state functions of aircraft elements - evaluate the performance and stability of an aircraft - perform simple calculations for the aerodynamics and performance of an aircraft - gain general basic knowledge of space and hypersonic vehicles The course follows diploma policy 1, so that students will be able to address science and technology issues by studying the fundaments of science and technology; diploma policy 3 gaining the ability to develop ingenious technologies of “manufacturing and system building”.

授業外の学習

After each class, students are expected to engage in the following study activities, totaling 200 minutes: ・Work on the assigned project (1 x 200 minutes) ・Read the assigned literature and review the class material (13 x 200 minutes)
