概要

This course is an introduction to electromagnetism (Electrostatics, which means electric charges are stationary). The topic includes electric charge, electric fields, electric potential, capacitance and steady-state electric current. This course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of the basic physics principles mentioned above, as well as their applications, and to enhance their conceptual understanding of physical laws and mathematics behind them. This course follows the curriculum policy 2 to acquire the fundamentals of physics and simultaneously acquire skills in English comprehension and expression by becoming familiar with science and technology-relates English communication. Prerequisite: Basic Physics (Classical mechanics) be done

目標

The objective is to obtain basic laws of electrostatics and understand electromagnetic phenomena.

授業外の学習

Students are required the following before/after each lecture: (1) to read the distributed material for preparation (60 minutes for one class), (2) to review their notebook taken at class (60 minutes for one class), (3) perform the tasks assigned in class (80 minutes for one class). The additional 200 minutes of preparation is supposed just before the mid-term and the final examinations.
