BASIC BIOLOGY*

概要

Cells are the basic units of animals and plants. This course is intended to provide students with basic knowledge on cell structure and function. Topics include: macromolecules in cells, central dogma, cellular communication and communities, diseases, and technologies on molecular and cellular biology. Throughout the course, students will work independently and collaboratively with an active learner approach. Group work includes discussion and presentations. *Note: The method of conducting classes may change depending on the situation.

目標

By completion of this course, students should be able to understand and explain the fundamentals of cells, i.e. basic structure of cells, roles of macromolecules on cell structure and function, processes of genetic information flow in a cell.

授業外の学習

【Preparation】(Time required: approx. 120 minutes for each session). Read class material and textbook and prepare your questions. Prepare presentation when you are assigned. 【Review】 (Time required: approx. 70 minutes for each session) Read the lecture notes and summarize the content of the lecture as well as reviewing the textbook.
