概要

Students will read state-of-the-art academic articles focusing on various types of stress responses in plants. By the presentation of the contents of these articles and discussion with other students, students will learn diversity and complexity of mechanisms underlying stress responses in plants. The contents of this course correspond to Curriculum Policy 1 and 2 in the field of biological science.

目標

The purpose of this course is to acquire advanced knowledge that can be useful to make ideas for the new avenue(s) of researches focusing on stress responses in plants. In addition, students will acquire ability to present the main messages of their own researches to others with various different background as well as plant biologists. In addition, students will learn the approaches to apply scientific knowledge and skills to improve human societies. Purpose of this course corresponds to Diploma Policy 1 and 2.

授業外の学習

Engage in full-time research activities adhering to the laboratory protocols. Conduct research with utmost attention to safety measures, meticulously preparing and summarizing findings along the way. Read the books and literature provided by your supervisor ahead of time to thoroughly understand the content of each lecture (60 min). Furthermore, after the lecture review the material covered and clarifying any areas of uncertainty (70 min). Students should consistently be ready to summarize and present the literature's contents at least once during class (60 min).
