概要

This tutorial/exercise is designed to guide students to carry out their research under the supervision of the adviser, report on the progress of the study at regular meetings, and receive necessary advice to complete the thesis through discussions. Student will conduct research on a specific theme; and therefore acquire profound professional knowledge of their theme in a broad context and learn about research procedures, organization and ethics. (Curriculum Policy #2 of Information Science Division)

目標

The aim of this tutorial/exercise is to learn the basics of researches in the master degree. Students will learn to acquire acquire expertise that enables one to independently play an active role at the forefront of Information Science and associated fields as well as to creatively conduct research and development that will contribute to human evolution and wellbeing. (Diploma Policy #2 of Information Science Division)

授業外の学習

To advance research so as to be able to report at the weekly progress report meetings (once a week) on the theme of the Master's thesis research. Specifically, students should understand the contents of texts and papers related to the theme. Next, students should prepare materials to explain what they understand for the progress report meeting. In addition, the applicant should consider how to proceed with the explanations in order to make them easy to understand. The above preparation requires at least 20 hours of preparation per each.

所要時間: It is desirable to apply at least 30 hours per week.

  1. Develop a research theme and schedule appropriate to the theme and the student's ability. In the first lecture, the lecture schedule for the entire semester will be decided in consultation with the students.
  2. Organize knowledge about the domain to be researched
  3. Correspondence between knowledge of the domain under study and their own research

  5. In-depth research on the domain to be studied (1)

教科書

Since we will be referring to latest research papers, textbook will be assigned in class.
