Each student will select recent papers on medical imaging including ultrasound, magnetic field, optical imaging, etc., human medical engineering, remote sensing, environmental observation, non-destructive testing, communication engineering, measurement engineering, visualization engineering, signal processing, image processing, etc., and discuss them based on the introduction of their contents to continuously improve basic research skills in these fields. If necessary, papers in other fields may be dealt with. Papers will also be introduced by the supervisor. This is a subject to "acquire specialized knowledge" in order to cultivate the ability to contribute to the development of informatics and related fields and to the development of human society and the conservation of the global environment, as stated in Curriculum Policy 2 of the Master's Program in Informatics. The courses are designed to "conduct research on a specific theme, acquire in-depth expertise on the theme and its surroundings, and learn how to conduct and organize research, as well as research ethics, etc."
目標
Continuously through literature lectures and practical training, etc, 1) Students will be exposed to a wide range of fields, especially remote sensing, and will learn how to write and present papers. 2) Students are expected to be ambitious in their efforts to improve their skills. 3) Students will acquire "the ability to understand the impact of technology on human society and the global environment from multiple perspectives" as stated in Diploma Policy 1 of the Master's Program in Informatics and "the expertise to be active on the cutting edge of science and engineering and related fields, and the ability to develop new technologies and explore new fields" as stated in Policy 2 of the Diploma Policy of the Master's Program in Informatics.
授業外の学習
Students should read papers on a regular basis (100 minutes everyday, at least one paper every 2 days) and be prepared to summarize and report on them once a week.
