概要
The student will work on a research theme set by the supervisor. This year's research themes are mainly medical ultrasound, and medical magnetic and optical imaging. Students are encouraged to constantly acquire new techniques and knowledge through experiments and signal processing (programming), etc., to develop their research, and to regularly present their findings at academic conferences, etc. In the laboratory, the student will regularly report on the progress of research. This course is designed to cultivate students' ability to contribute to the development of informatics and related fields and to the development of human society and the conservation of the global environment, as stated in Curriculum Policy 2 of the Master's Program in Informatics. The courses are designed to "conduct research on a specific theme, acquire in-depth expertise on the theme and its surroundings, and learn how to conduct and organize research, as well as research ethics, etc."
目標
To carry out research, summarize the results, and present the results in a research presentation. Through the research process, the student will learn how to conduct research, deepen his/her knowledge of the research field and research theme, and acquire the ability to advance to the doctoral program and engage in more advanced research, or achieve a level of achievement that will enable him/her to conduct research and development at the forefront of the industry in this field. 1) To be able to read relevant articles and become familiar with the research field and research themes. 2) To present the results at academic conferences, etc. The student will acquire "the ability to understand the impact of technology on human society and the global environment from multiple perspectives," as stated in Policy 1 of the Master's Diploma Program in Informatics, and "the expertise to work at the forefront of science and engineering and related fields, and the ability to develop new technologies and pioneer new fields," as stated in Policy 2.
授業外の学習
The research should be conducted so that a weekly report on progress can be made. In addition, the presentation should be fully prepared (30 minutes). Research should be conducted mainly through independent efforts outside of class time, and should be conducted spontaneously under the direction of the supervisor (8 hours everyday). Students should spend sufficient time preparing for the summary and interim presentation of the first half, the summary and final presentation of the second half, and the conference presentation. The laboratory, experimental apparatus, and PCs are available for use every day.
