MASTER'S THESIS TUTORIAL AND EXERCISE 2A

概要

This tutorial/exercise is designed to guide students to promote their master's study and compose their master's thesis. Students will decide their research theme under the supervision of the adviser, report on the progress of the study at regular meetings, and receive necessary advice to complete the thesis through discussions. Student will conduct research on a specific theme; and therefore acquire profound professional knowledge of their theme in a broad context and learn about research procedures, organization and ethics. (Curriculum Policy #2 of Information Science Division) Conduct a hybrid of online and face-to-face classes. Plan face-to-face classes on a case-by-case basis when face-to-face instruction is necessary for research. In other cases, communication is conducted online. In addition to communication via Moodle and Slack, Zoom is used when necessary.

目標

The aim of this tutorial/exercise is to learn the basics of researches in the master degree. Students will learn to acquire acquire expertise that enables one to independently play an active role at the forefront of Information Science and associated fields as well as to creatively conduct research and development that will contribute to human evolution and wellbeing. (Diploma Policy #2 of Information Science Division)

授業外の学習

To advance research so as to be able to report at the weekly progress report meetings (once a week) on the theme of the Master's thesis research. Specifically, students should understand the contents of texts and papers related to the theme. Next, students should prepare materials to explain what they understand for the progress report meeting. In addition, the applicant should consider how to proceed with the explanations in order to make them easy to understand. The above preparation requires at least 20 hours of preparation per each. In addition, review the points pointed out or noticed during the exercise.
