文学研究法II

概要

This course guides students through the development of a literary-critical research paper in English. Its objectives are twofold: to familiarise students with the practicalities of graduate level literary research, and to equip them to discuss their research in an international forum. Through weekly seminars, students will examine case studies offering different critical challenges and learn strategies for formulating viable literary analyses. They will also undertake key steps in writing a research essay, balancing mastery of the field with constraints of time and form.

目標

At the conclusion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Identify critical challenges and interpretative possibilities in a literary text. 2. Develop key components of a research project within a set timeframe. 3. Analyse texts and their critical contexts using careful, evidence-based observation. 4. Compose a literary-critical research paper using various kinds of primary and secondary source materials.

授業外の学習

Students are expected to have completed all assigned readings prior to each class. In addition, they will undertake regular research and writing tasks related to the course topics and reading materials.
