概要
The materials development module is a practical and hands-on course for teachers wishing to learn more about how to select, adapt and design materials to use in the language learning class. Materials are the practical and day-to-day resources that we use to facilitate learning, and yet there are many hidden political issues behind materials-choices too. In this course, we will look at the ‘hidden curriculum’ behind the materials we choose for our learners, as well as looking at more immediate issues such as materials evaluation and key principles for creating our own materials.
目標
This course is designed to open our awareness about the underlying issues behind materials-choices, and make us better equipped to choose, adapt and create appropriate materials to facilitate language learning.
授業外の学習
Participants will join the class as materials writers, and they will be expected to read relevant articles in preparation for topics covered in the syllabus each week, usually one or two chapters. Participants will also engage in discussions each lesson, and at the end will be expected to produce their own materials and a written rationale, which will then be used for assessment purposes.
所要時間: 190 minutes

- Workshop 1: Sharing our own materials and lesson plans before the assessment.
- Workshop 2: Finalising our materials and getting more feedback
