概要
The course is intended to help students develop the versatility in employing a range of teaching skills for various purposes for different levels of students learning English as a foreign language in Japan and other countries where English is taught and learnt as a foreign language. To achieve the goal, students are expected to critically review those ideas and methods that are put forward in the variety of textbooks published in the field of ESL/EFL.
目標
By the end of the term, students will have acquired the back skills and knowledge in the following areas: 1) How to teach English as a foreign language (EFL) in the environment where English is not necessarily required to acquire for survival in daily life. 2) Teaching EFL effectively to those students who do not necessarily need to use the target language in a daily life. 3) Gathering and integrating various pieces of information in the form of useful set of ideas that lead to effective teaching. 4) Presenting the information gathered so the listener may easily follow. 5) Leading a discussion that follows the presentation. 5) Giving feedback to the presentation delivered by a student.

To achieve the goal, the students are expected to: 1) do library and internet search to gather useful support information to help the listener understand the assigned topic; 2) prepare for an in-class discussion; and 3) summarize the discussion and provide feedback on the topic covered during the class.
