概要
These courses prepare students to be able to understand short lectures/texts based on a specific subject and actively present their ideas with originality. Students will be able to participate in lecture processing skills and conduct tasks such as role-plays, discussions, demonstrations or presentations based on rich authentic input on topics. These courses are designed for students to exercise critical thinking skills to learn about subject content and build language and academic skills around the topics. この科目群では,トピックについての短いレクチャー/文章を理解し,学生が独創性を持って考えを活発に伝えることを学ぶ。ロールプレイ,ディスカッション,デモンストレーション,プレゼンテーションなどの活動に積極的に参加することにより,本質的な内容について学び,英語を実践的に活用できるように学習していきます。これらのコースは,学生がクリティカルシンキングスキルを用い,主題の内容について学び,そのトピックに関する言語とアカデミックスキルを構築できるように設計されています。 On this course, you will learn how to socialize in English in different situations. You will learn how to approach people, open conversations and continue them, taking into consideration your position in relationship with others. You will also learn about what to do when conversations go wrong. You will practice using critical thinking skills, andyou will be able to learn how to become sensitive to others from different cultures and how they socialize with you. このコースではさまざまな状況でどのように英語で社交をするかを学びます。自分の立場と他者との関係を考慮に入れて,どのように人々に近づき,会話を始め,会話し続けるかを学びます。また会話が間違った方向に行ったときにどうするかを学びます。さらに異なる文化から来た人々に気を配る方法やどのように彼らが社交するかを学びます。 Being the global language, English is important not only in governance, education, and business. It is likewise important in various social communicative situations. This course trains the students in the appropriate use of the language in social situations, both in formal and informal settings, in educational and commercial contexts. Students are taught the forms, styles, and patterns useful in various social situations which they may encounter in the school, workplace, and the wider community.
目標
At the end of the course, students are those who are able to: (a) unequivocally express appreciation for English as a language for connecting with different people in various social situations; (b) clearly explain the dynamics of conversations and talk; (c) properly manage and engage in a social conversation; (d) appropriately utilize communicative and linguistic devices in a social communicative situation; and (e) strategically use various spoken medium in conveying their message to people.
授業外の学習
Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. シラバスの内容や教科書資料をもとに,授業の予習・復習をしていただきます。 レッスンに関連した宿題が毎週出されます。 Students must prepare materials necessary in the completion of tasks in class.
