ENGLISH FOR TOURISM

概要

These courses prepare students to use English in specialist professions. Students will be able to learn the specific language used to carry out the duties of that particular profession. Students will also develop their skills in order to conduct the duties in the respective professions in English. この科目群では,専門的な職業分野で使用される英語を学び,仕事を円滑に行うための英語スキルを身につけていきます。 On this introductory course, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge relevant to the tourism industry. You will focus on understanding the professions related to it. You will also learn the language you need to engage in this area of work through practice using real-life situations. この入門コースでは,観光産業で必要とされる基本スキルと知識を身につけます。まず,この職業に対する理解を深めます。また,現実の状況に対応する練習を通じて,この分野で活躍するために必要な専門用語も学びます。 In addition to course content, you will be asked to design a trip itinerary, similar to a travel agent offering a trip to a customer; you will also play an escape game answering the questions about airlines; you will finally role-play situations that arise in hotels. The course will engage speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.

授業外の学習

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. シラバスの内容や教科書資料をもとに,授業の予習・復習をしていただきます。 レッスンに関連した宿題が毎週出されます。 Homework includes reviewing class vocabulary in preparation for vocabulary tests and preparing for assessment assignments. Homework will take approximately 190min for each lesson.
