概要

These courses prepare students to use English in specialist professions. Students will be able to learn the specific language used to carry out the duties of that particular profession. Students will also develop their skills in order to conduct the duties in the respective professions in English. この科目群では,専門的な職業分野で使用される英語を学び,仕事を円滑に行うための英語スキルを身につけていきます。 On this introductory course, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge relevant to the tourism industry. You will focus on understanding the professions related to it. Course topics cover recent tourism growth, trends and and tourists' expectations with lectures, in-class and homework language learning activities, pair and group work researching, presenting, and roleplaying for sharing in class, and a final presentation on a course topic that demonstrates understanding and critical thinking of the course topics.

目標

You will learn about tourism growth, trends and services, and basic language for communication in common tourism work to - find out customer information, expectations and needs - talk to tour operators - take and confirming bookings - make recommendations - describe destinations, services and amenities

授業外の学習

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. シラバスの内容や教科書資料をもとに,授業の予習・復習をしていただきます。 レッスンに関連した宿題が毎週出されます。 You will spend the same amount of time as the lesson in self-study preview and review; complete language exercises, short readings, and research to share in class. You will also work with a partner or small group to research and make a short final presentation.
