詳細情報
概要
On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication 1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. How confident are you about your ability to distinguish reliable information from unreliable information when using the internet? Have you ever seen examples of "fake news" online? This course aims to develop your online information literacy so you are empowered to stop the spread of inaccurate information. The big question students will explore in this course is: How can I become a better information consumer online? Online information literacy is the ability to evaluate the reliability and credibility of information online. We will learn how to critically navigate the world of online information through readings, videos, case studies, and hands-on practice. By building your information literacy, you will exercise your critical thinking skills and become informed, responsible citizens in an age overflowing with misinformation.
