概要

On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication 1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. We believe we make the best decision about what to choose, what to buy, and how to move based on the given information, but we might not be fully attentive to the subtle factors or cultural reasons that influence our decision-making process. This class aims to develop analytical skills in what impacts our decision-making behavior and to analyze how our decision-making is applied in the business environment. As various factors drive the individual decision-making process, you will discuss with peers what reflects in your personal experiences and emotions in various situations by learning the different issues related to psychology, design, sociology, behavioral science, and economics. At the end of this course, what you learned allows you to verify the cause of your decision-making from multiple angles and expand your analysis skills. Three main questions that we will explore are: 1. What influences my decision-making? 2. How can I use my understanding of human behavior to assess business strategies for better customer experiences? 3. How to Integrate cultural and linguistic norms in communication?
