概要

On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication 1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. Various topics/contents related to today’s world will be covered in this course. You will work by yourself and as a group. You will practice and try discussion/debate and speech/presentation.

目標

On this course, you will use the skills you learned in AC1 to listen and read about a particular topic which will be covered in class. You will also be able to talk and write effectively in English about what you have learned. You will be guided to think academically about the topic with a focus on critical thinking. You will try to express your ideas and opinions in English on various topics. You will work with your classmates and learn how to do discussion/debate. You will give speech/presentation and handle questions. You will manage your own study by setting your own goals and keeping your study journal.

授業外の学習

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. You must study vocabulary and expressions you need. You will be asked to prepare for debate/presentation. Review and check your understanding of the topic/content.
