概要

On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. On this course, you will study different topics such as psychology, Linguistics, public health, business, information technology and others. You will be researching and having discussions about the topics. You are expected to participate and share your personal opinions in class.

目標

On this course, you will use the skills you learned in AC1 to listen and read about a particular topic which will be covered in class. You will also be able to talk and write effectively in English about what you have learned. You will be guided to think academically about the topic with a focus on critical thinking. You will have the opportunity to have discussions and share your personal opinions with your classmates. You will research and compile information to support your ideas during class. You will prepare different types of presentations. You will present individually, in pairs and even in groups. You will work closely with your classmates sharing opinions, giving advice, and present together.

授業外の学習

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. Examples of homework include: -Listening to lectures and answering questions -Study vocabulary -Online quizzes -Prepare for presentations and class discussions. This includes research at the library. -Other writings (summaries, short essays, notes on the lectures)
