概要
On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication 1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. The theme of this course is Intercultural communication. You will learn and think about the relationship among language, culture, and communication. Various topics from linguistics and intercultural communication studies will be introduced and discussed in class to understand the theme. You will work on reading, summary writing, and vocabulary tasks online and will have discussions, presentations, and other interactive activities through Zoom. You are requested to maintain a secure internet connection throughout the class to complete tasks online.
目標
On this course, you will use the skills you learned in AC1 to listen and read about a particular topic which will be covered in class. You will also be able to talk and write effectively in English about what you have learned. You will be guided to think academically about the topic with a focus on critical thinking. First, you will be able to understand the concepts of intercultural communication from listening and reading materials. Then, you will be asked to formulate your opinion and ideas, as well as comment in a written or oral format using skills you learned in AC 1. You will be able to discuss it with your classmates to deepen your understanding and develop critical thinking skills. You will also be asked to be actively involved in the research activities.

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons.
