概要

In this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication 1. The course will help you further improve your knowledge, language proficiency, and critical thinking abilities by exploring various social issues related to technology, business, environment, and human sciences. This course involves interactive task-based learning, which includes micro-teaching sessions by students, discussions, and collaborative work during each class session. By participating in this course, you will be able to deepen your understanding of the topics and further develop your overall communicative competence in English.

目標

In this course, you will apply the skills you learned in AC1 to listen, read, and converse about various subjects from different fields, such as sociology, technology, psychology, marketing, neurology, problem-solving, and corporate social responsibility. Through completing coursework and gaining micro-teaching experience, you will demonstrate your proficiency in English, explain complex topics, and enhance your critical thinking abilities. Furthermore, you will gain a deeper understanding of global and social sustainability.

授業外の学習

Homework is given regularly to help you review the class contents and learn how to find materials for your study. You will need to review what you have learned in the previous classes to prepare for comprehension quizzes, engage in an essay writing project, and prepare for in-class presentations. Homework assignments will be given regularly to preview and review the course materials. For micro-teaching sessions, student-teachers will be responsible for teaching a chosen article to the rest of the class. They need to meet outside of class to create presentation slides, prepare vocabulary exercises, and lead a class discussion on issues raised by the article. Additionally, you will need to prepare for tests, writing assignments, and the final speech.
