概要

On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. This course is aimed for expanding your knowledge about geography and history of various regions of the world and helping you understand the roots of current issues in the world.

目標

On this course, you will use the skills you learned in AC1 to listen and read about a particular topic which will be covered in class. You will also be able to talk and write effectively in English about what you have learned. You will be guided to think academically about the topic with a focus on critical thinking. You will be able to see different problems including conflicts from various viewpoints and think critically about them. You will be able to convey your ideas in presentation and in writing.

授業外の学習

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. You are required to spend approximately 30 minutes on previewing the reading part of the textbook and 15 minutes on considering some discussion topics by yourself.
