ACADEMIC COMMUNICATION 2 (ELEMENTARY)*

概要

On this course, you will apply the study skills you developed in Academic Communication1 to study an academic subject or topic. You will be able to deepen your understanding about a topic and further develop your knowledge, language and critical thinking skills. You will learn to listen to lectures actively by taking notes, asking questions, making comments, and participating in discussion. You will also realize the importance of upholding academic honesty when you conduct research on your topic.

目標

On this course, you will use the skills you learned in AC1 to listen and read about a particular topic which will be covered in class. You will also be able to talk and write effectively in English about what you have learned. You will be guided to think academically about the topic with a focus on critical thinking. You will be able to express yourself logically both in writing and speaking, a requirement in today's academic and professional settings.

授業外の学習

Homework is given regularly to help you review the class contents, and learn how to find materials for your own study. You must read the assigned part of the textbook, listen to the audio files, and answer the questions to turn in via Moodle before each session.
