概要
On this course, you will learn the English you need to study effectively in an international academic environment. The course is offered at Elementary level. The language of instruction is English. You will learn how to study effectively using all four skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will produce your own written and oral work in connection with the topics dealt with in class. このコースでは,国際的でアカデミックな環境で,効果的に学習するための英語を学びます。授業は初級レベルで行われ,クラス内での使用言語は英語です。リスニング,スピーキング,リーディング,ライティングの４技能を使い,効果的に学習することを学びます。授業で扱ったトピックをもとに話し,エッセイを書きます。
目標
On this course, you will learn how to write a short summary, based on data on a topic related to the academic environment. You can listen to a 10 minute lecture delivered in simple English and make notes about the main points. You will be guided to read graded readers at Elementary level to understand the gist and report the contents verbally. You will learn how to write reading reports of 200 words, using correct paragraph structures and cohesive devices. You will also learn how to edit your reports focusing on accuracy by making use of your dictionaries, grammar books and other online resources. You will also learn how to take part in a 10 minute academic presentation and present an argument logically using appropriate language. このコースでは,データをもとに短い要約文を書けるようにします。10分間の簡単な英語の講義を聴いて,大切なポイントについてメモをとれるようにします。初級レベルで書かれた本を読み,クラスの仲間に話の大意を英語で伝えられるようにします。200語のリーディング・レポートを初級レベルの英語で書き,パラグラフの構成や文章をつなぐ言葉を学び,正しく使えるように練習します。また,自分が書いた文章をスペルチェック,辞書,文法書,オンラインツールを使い,直していく勉強をします。さらに,10分間のプレゼンテーションに参加し,簡単でありながら適切な言葉を論理的に使用し,事実や意見を述べられるように学習していきます。
授業外の学習
Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. シラバスの内容や教科書資料をもとに,授業の予習・復習をしていただきます。 レッスンに関連した宿題が毎週出されます。 The weekly homework varies depending on what you learn in the week: from preparing for reading/listening materials to sharing your ideas about the topics, etc. 毎週の宿題は資料の予習から関連するトピックについての意見交換など,その週で習う事柄に応じて様々です。
