概要
On this course you will learn the English you need to study effectively in an international academic environment. The course is offered at Introductory level. The language of instruction is English. You will learn how to study effectively using all four skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will produce your own written and oral work in connection with the topics dealt with in class. このコースでは,国際的でアカデミックな環境で,効果的に学習するための英語を学びます。授業は基礎レベルで行われ,クラス内での使用言語は英語です。リスニング,スピーキング,リーディング,ライティングの4技能を使い,効果的に学習することを学びます。授業で扱ったトピックをもとに話し,エッセイを書きます。
目標
On this course, you will learn how to write a report of 100 words, based on texts or a talk related to a topic dealt with on the course. You can listen to a 10 minute talk on a topic related to the university learning environment and make notes about the main points. You will be guided to read graded readers at Introductory level and understand the gist and report it verbally to other students. You will learn how to write reading reports of 100 words, and focus on how a paragraph is constructed. You will also learn how to edit your written work using spell check and will focus on accuracy by making use of your dictionaries, grammar books and other online resources. You will also learn how to take part in a 10 minute group presentation and present your facts and opinions logically using the appropriate language. このコースでは,読んだ文章や先生の講義をもとに,100語のレポートを書けるようにします。10分間の講義を聴いて,A4半ページ分のメモを取れるようにします。基礎レベルで書かれた本を読み,話の大意をつかみ,口頭で他の学生に伝えられるようにします。100語のリーディング・レポートを基礎レベルの英語で書き,パラグラフの構成を意識できるようにします。また,自分が書いた文章をスペルチェック,辞書,文法書,オンラインツールを使い,直していく勉強をします。さらに,10分間のグループ発表に参加し,簡単でありながら適切な言葉を論理的に使って,事実や意見を述べられるように学習していきます。
授業外の学習
Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons. Homework in connection to the lessons will be given every week. シラバスの内容や教科書資料をもとに,授業の予習・復習をしていただきます。 レッスンに関連した宿題が毎週出されます。 【Preparation and Review】(Time required: approx. 25 minutes for each class) ・Read the class material ・Prepare your own ideas and questions for class discussion ・Work on exercises and writing assignments ・Prepare for presentations 【準備と復習】(必要な学習時間:授業1回あたり25分) ・授業資料を読む ・クラスディスカッションのために自分のアイデアや質問を準備する ・演習やライティング課題に取り組む ・プレゼンテーションの準備をする
