概要
This course introduces students to the concepts and theoretical foundations of comparative politics, which is the observation and analysis of political phenomena at the global level. It balances the study of comparative politics through both conceptual, theoretical and empirical cases.

Following successful completion of this course, students will have demonstrated an ability to: - differentiate the characteristics of state and regime types, political economic systems and among others, institutions of political cultures through both conceptual and comparative means; - engage with differing opinions of others in a rational and respectable manner using a common vocabulary for explaining political concepts and phenomena; - exhibit independent and critical thinking skills in applying concepts beyond the cases discussed in the class materials; - synthesise independent ideas with those from academic resources into formal, academic English writing.
