概要

This course introduces the ideas and writings of key sociological theorists of the twentieth and twenty-first century.

目標

Building on the classical theories introduced in SOCIOLOGICAL THEORY 1, this course focuses on contemporary sociological theory. Each session introduces different theoretical traditions and theorists, using a combination of textbook texts and original writings. It is recommended (but not obligatory) to attend SOCIOLOGICAL THEORY 1 prior to taking this class.

Students should expect to spend about 3 hours for preparing the weekly readings and to study for the midterm and the final exam.
