概要
This course aims to contemplate and discuss questions concerning the meaning of life through reading influential essays. Each student will choose one essay from an anthology titled Exploring the Meaning of Life (edited by J. W. Seachris). All students will read the chosen essays and prepare questions to discuss in the seminar.
目標
(1) To learn to think philosophically through dialogue with others. (2) To learn the skill and manner of reading philosophical essays. (3) To learn important concepts in the philosophy of the meaning of life. (4) To develop one's own insight into questions concerning the meaning of life.
授業外の学習
(1) To read the assigned essays and prepare questions. (2) To think about the points and questions raised in class. (3) To write a final essay.
