Students are expected to read the reference materials for the next class. English and Japanese will be used bilingually in the class. Students can write their term papers either in English or Japanese.

概要
The course introduces the origins and developments of global communication historically and examines the significant discussions in the field. Then, the development trends in East Asia are analyzed and considered while focusing on the local situation in each country and region. Finally, we discuss theoretical paradigms and discourses on global communication trends and reevaluate them from international comparative perspectives.
目標
Students will analyze globalizing modern society from media, communication, and culture dimensions. They will develop the analytical skills to critically consider the reality of society and form a global mind.
