SEMINAR 3A

概要

In this seminar, students will apply their journalistic skills to write fact-based articles on sustainability-related media reports. After covering basic writing skills and current events, students will develop questions, gather and critically analyze news to write articles on how sustainability-related topics have been covered recently. Students will present their articles to class and answer questions for clarification. Based on the Q&A sessions and feedbacks, students will re-write their articles for further improvement. Students will also create shared database and toolkits that will improve their effectiveness. The course emphasizes critical thinking, research and effective writing skills that are necessary to produce informative and compelling articles.

目標

Through this seminar, students will be able to 1. understand key concepts of writing journalistic articles, 2. effectively gather and analyze news on a certain topic, 3. effectively write journalistic articles that are both informative and compelling, 4. ask critical, meaningful questions on diverse topics, and 5. develop deeper understanding of sustainability and media.
