概要
In this seminar, students will work on multiple media research projects concerning a specific sustainability topic. The concept of media literacy will be introduced and discussed along with five different analytical frameworks. Students will gather news reports and use different approaches to decipher the way news is gathered, structured, and framed. At the end, students will present the final research result on the state of journalism on specific topics using the available data.
目標
The students are expected to be able to 1. Understand key concepts of media literacy and their application, 2. Conduct various news content analysis on a given news topic; and 3. Present research results effective and meaningful ways.
授業外の学習
Students will be expected to work on specific research assignment for each class.
所要時間: At least 190 minutes per lecture.
