During the Autumn semester we focus on different forms of creative writing and analyse styles, structures and techniques. Examples in literature include: novels and short stories, poetry & prose and song writing. In addition, students will be expected to work together on creative writing projects which identify and address current global and societal issues. In addition there is a special focus on writing research papers for academic purposes.

Students are expected to complete all homework assignments, to read required novels and texts from the reading list, and to contribute continually outside class by inputting requested submissions to the Moodle Forum Thread to facilitate active group learning. The purpose of the forum/discussion thread on Moodle is two-fold: to either provide an opportunity for students to actively prepare and publish prior to class activities, or to consolidate and confirm learning after classes.
