詳細情報
概要
This highly participatory course is designed to assist students in the further development of meaningful critical thinking, discussion/presentation, and teamwork skills in an academic/professional environment. This course will build social learning and practical skills related to organising and presenting in an authentic academic context. Specifically, students will form teams responsible for the planning and executing of a speaking project at the end of the course. Assessment will be based on scaffolded tasks such as written and video pieces that demonstrate integrative, critical, and reflective thinking. Participation in class and team activities will also form part of the final grade.
目標
Gain skills in leading and participating in higher order academic discussions. Build effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Develop skills in self-directed learning as well as collaborating with others in authentic situations. Practice using digital tools to facilitate collaboration and teamwork, as well as deliver professional presentations.
授業外の学習
Students will be required to conduct some research in preparation for class discussions and their team’s final speaking event. There will also be small milestone tasks that will guide and support the planning and preparation for this event. All handouts and resources for this course will be posted on Moodle prior to each lesson.
