概要
In this seminar, we will deepen our understanding of comparative education research. Students will familiarize themselves with a range of theories in comparative education and learn to apply them through critical reviews of research papers. The overall goal is to understand the nature of academic research and writing, and to develop their own research question. Students will write and present an argumentative paper on their weekly readings, and active discussion will follow. At the end of the semester, they will submit a research / project proposal for the final year. Possibly, we will have some COIL sessions with an overseas university.

• To learn key theories in comparative education and their applications • To understand the nature of academic research and writing • To learn how to critically engage with research papers and develop a research/ project proposal • To practice how to write argumentative papers, present them and lead a discussion
授業外の学習
At least 2 hours preparing each week to study the assigned set of readings and prepare for presentation and class discussion.
