概要

Students will be able to study academic subjects in a structured way at an undergraduate level. A CLIL approach will be employed so that students can learn the basic knowledge of the subject and the specialist language used in the subject in English. この科目群では,アカデミックな科目を体系的に英語で学びます。内容言語統合型学習(CLIL)を用い,科目の基本的な内容やその分野で使用される専門用語,学問分野を英語で身につける方法について学びます。 On this course, you will learn about how Psychology is defined as an academic subject. Drawing on some topics related to Psychology, this introductory course provides an accessible and engaging introduction to the subject. このコースは心理学とは何かを学問的に定義し,関連トピックをわかりやすい英語で紹介する入門コースです。 This course focuses on love as its theme and explores it psychoogically. Everyone loves to talk about love, and it is an emotion almost all of us value and crave for. But why do we occasionally have trouble loving or being loved? Is love a natural, spontaneous emotion we simply “fall in” with someone, in some place , and at some occasion? Or is loving an “art” that needs to be trained with our intention and deliberate action? How can we cultivate our capacity to truly love? What is the difference between a genuinely loving relationship and a pseudo-loving relationship? This course aims for addressing and discussing these questions by incorporating insights on love and relevant issues from various areas. 本コースでは愛をテーマとして焦点を当て心理学的に探求していく。「愛」は誰もが好んで話題とし,また私たちの多くが尊び求めている感情と言える。しかし,なぜ愛すること,または愛されることで私たちは時に悩むのだろうか。愛は誰かと,いつか,ある場所で「落ち入る」ような自然発生的な感情なのだろうか?あるいは愛することは意志と意図的な行動をともなう訓練すべき「技術」なのだろうか?どのように真に愛する能力を培えるのか?真に愛情に溢れた関係と偽りの愛情の関係の違いとは?こうした問いかけについて,愛と関連事項に関する様々な分野からの知見を取り入れながら議論を進めていく。

目標

The primary objective of this course is to develop perspectives that would be hopefully nourishing to each student’s actual life and relationships by sharing each other’s insights and opinions through dialogues. To this end, the students will be required to (1) participate in in- and out-of-class discussions actively; (2) prepare a written summary of a reading material/on-line presentation when assigned; (3) keep a journal that tracks a train of thoughts, feelings, and learning throughout the course. 本コースの主目的は,対話を通じてお互いの洞察や意見を交換することによって,受講生一人一人の人生や人間関係にとって願わくば糧となるような視点を育むことである。そのための手段として,(1) 教室内外でのディスカッションへの積極的参加,(2)リーディング課題 (もしくはオンライン・プレゼンテーション視聴)の要約レポート,(3)コースを通じて自身の思考,感情,そして学びの変遷をたどる記録日誌,を設けることとする。

Based on the content of the syllabus and textbook materials, students will be asked to preview/review the lessons.
