概要
<Lesson Outline> This class is based on an awareness of one's own body (i.e., existence), which is essential for the practice and development of "human beings who live for and with others". Through discussion and experiential learning from various themes related to the body, students will learn the basic knowledge of wellness and embodied wisdom necessary for communication with others and the outside world and for self-expression from multiple perspectives. To reexamine one's lifestyle and body is to question the origins of human beings' quest for healthy and free self-expression, and at the same time to open the door to coexistence with others.
目標
1. Acquire the knowledge and skills for physical, mental, social well-being “wellness (holistic health)" and for lifestyle to be yourself. 2. Acquire embodied knowledge to live with others by recognizing body as media to communicate with others and environment. Objectives for each unit ① Sport and Body/Body Culture Study the meaning and history of sport and its relationships with politics, economics and education. Also students will acquire the skill to quest what is human being and humane way of life through discussions on philosophy and culture of sport and body. ② Health Literacy Study the scientific knowledge for exercise, nutrition, rest, stress management and social support and acquire the skills to build own lifestyle and make use of knowledge for living wisdom. ③Body Lessons Challenge to “feel the body" and to “feel with body" will guide students to deeply pay attention to their own bodies instead of their body images reflected in the mirror. “Opening awareness to the body" leads understanding themselves as they are and provide a clue to open their mind and to improve communication with environment and with others. ④ Fitness Back to the original meaning of physical fitness to “adapting to the environment," students will acquire the measured data of physical condition, learn and experience the scientific training program to improve muscle strength, endurance and mobility and have a meaningful sustainable exercise habit for themselves.
