概要
Studies in Christian Humanism are subjective intellectual endeavors to reconsider the meaning, value, responsibility, and the reason for living as a human being from the perspective of “human as relational" rooted in “Christian humanism," which Sophia University adopts as its foundation for education and research. They stand for an “integral understanding of humanity" that respects every human being as a whole with personal dignity. It can be viewed also as the educational philosophy of “for others, with others," which leaves no one behind and reveals the way to “become a neighbor" for those who are particularly weak and poor in society. It also includes the university's desire to live based on the model of Jesus Christ, who offered all of himself as “being for others." This course is rooted in Christian humanism as a foundation that leads each student to embody “for others, with others" while making use of various experiences such as unique learning and activities at Sophia University. It is a compulsory subject provided to promote an integral understanding of humanity.
