概要

This English-medium course aims at inspiring students to appreciate the miracle of life and cultivate a sense of gratitude and respect for human dignity through experiential learning activities. It will study the gift of life from the perspectives of psychology, ethics and comparative religions. Three main stages of the human lifespan will be examined: • the beginning of human life from conception to early infancy; • the transition to adulthood; and • the transition to eternal life. Students will acquire a rich understanding and experience of each stage of life through lectures, films, guest talks, discussions, fieldwork, and other learning experiences. Throughout the course, students are expected to experience, reflect on, write their insights and dilemmas about each of the stages of life, and discuss these with classmates via Moodle and ZOOM. At the end of the course, students will reflect on their overall learning experiences and receive feedback. Please note that contents of this syllabus may be subject to change.
