CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY 2

概要

The goal of this course is to examine the influence of culture and social structure on human thought, emotion, social development, and social behavior. Topics to be covered include: cognition, perception, morality, mental health, and emotions. You do not need to have taken Cultural Psychology 1 to take this course. Active learning will be incorporated by adopting small group discussions, pair-work, and reaction papers.

目標

Goals of Cultural Psychology: To understand the interactive effects between people (behavior and thought) and their culture. To ultimately contribute to a more inclusive understanding of human psychology. To increase understanding of other cultures to prevent, minimize, or resolve cross-cultural conflict To foster the development of culturally competent individuals.

授業外の学習

Students are expected to complete 20 to 40 pages of reading in English each week and/or watch online video/films. Four absences is an automatic Fail. ●Reading for class (120 minutes). ●Class assignments (30 minutes) ●Review class lectures, study for quizzes (40 minutes)
