概要

This course explores the educational approach, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) from both a learner and a teacher's perspective. From a learner’s perspective, we will experience CLIL classes and analyze them from various angles. From a teacher’s perspective, we will have in-class teaching demonstrations and experience how to plan and conduct CLIL classes. Through this class, we will learn about both theoretical and practical aspects of CLIL principles, providing insights for different issues surrounding English education in Japan. The course is open to all students, both aspiring language teachers and those who wish to move on to other fields in the future.

目標

The main objective of this course is to enhance your understanding of CLIL from wide-ranging perspectives. Students will be encouraged to reflect upon their own language learning as a language learner critically and objectively. They will also learn how to plan and conduct CLIL classes effectively through teaching demonstrations, which will benefit not only aspiring teachers but also students who wish to move on to various fields in the future.

授業外の学習

Students will be required to complete the following assignments outside of class: (1) reading assignments for in-class discussion (2) preparation of 2 teaching demonstrations (3) online reflections after every class
