概要
What is digital history? This course explores the ways in which digitalization has transformed history as an academic discipline. We will survey key methodologies and approaches and analyze how digital history offers collaborative opportunities for historians to work closely with archivists, librarians, and public stakeholders. This course also introduces students an opportunity to dig into our campus history at the Sophia University archives. Please note that this course handles materials that might contain Japanese texts. Students are therefore expected to have good proficiency in both Japanese and English.
目標
Through this course, students will acquire skills to: 1) integrate digital methodologies into their research, and 2) assess and analyze primary sources in the digital sphere.
