概要
This course is an introduction to the scientific study of language. Following Introduction to the Study of Language 1, this semester we will focus on issues in pragmatics, historical linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and first language acquisition. There will be lectures and many discussions on various topics in linguistics throughout the course. Note: This course is open only to students in the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The enrollment limit is set at 200 students.
目標
The primary goal of the course is to bring you to reflect critically on language and its use in daily life, which is usually taken for granted by the native speakers, but which poses great challenges to those who try to learn it as a second/foreign language. There will be lectures and many discussions on various topics in linguistics throughout the course.
