概要

The focus of this course will be on putting abstract ideas into concrete practice. We will try to achieve this aim not so much through lectures but through out-of-class reading and preparation, and in-class teaching demonstrations and ensuing feedback sessions and discussion. I hope that through this course you will learn to make your class interesting, motivating, stimulating, and educationally rewarding both for your students and for yourself as a teacher.

目標

The purpose of this course is to expand and deepen your understanding of English language teaching as a practical and humanistic profession and for you to get some simulated practice in teaching English as an international language.

授業外の学習

Students are required to engage in substantial outside-class work to contribute to and participate in this class. Specifically, students will have to: (1) read the assigned homework before class; (2) prepare and rehearse for the teaching demonstrations; and (3) watch designated videos and write reaction papers on their thoughts about them.
