ENGLISH SKILLS B-2【Gｸﾞﾙ-ﾌﾟ】*

概要

* Students wishing to retake this course are required to email the instructor before the first class. This semester, we will continue using the topic of global warming to improve our critical reasoning skills. However, we will also use this topic to put your knowledge of global warming and critical reasoning into actual practice. This will be done through a progression of three projects that focus on climate action in different arenas. The first project will be a Model United Nations conference. The second project will be a youth activism project addressing issues in your own communities. The third project will be degrowth project to create an eco-friendly product or service project. Each of these three projects will include individual and group assignments. As in the spring semester, most of the work in this class will be collaborative and conducted in the intellectual spirit of truth-seeking for the betterment of ourselves and society at large. Both the instructor and students alike should come to class each lesson with a positive and constructive mindset, as well as degree of intellectual modesty appropriate for our shared endeavor.

目標

Improve overall academic capabilities in the following areas: critical thinking, research skills, comprehension and creation, discussion, presentation, and digital media and literacy.

An assortment of readings and smaller assignments, as well as some larger collaborative assignments.
