概要
This course aims to develop students’ critical thinking ability through enhancing four English skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. In particular, this semester focuses on the activities of discussions, debates, and group presentations on various topics of social issues. Students will learn how to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively through these practices. *Students wishing to retake this course are required to email the instructor before the first class.
目標
This course has the following objectives: - To develop critical thinking ability through enhancing four English skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. - To become familiar with different styles of dialogue (discussion, debate, and presentation) - To communicate your ideas clearly and persuasively
授業外の学習
Students are required to complete weekly assignments before the class. These include the reading of the assigned texts, submission of discussion questions, preparation for debates and presentations. At the end of the semester, students will also submit a reflection paper. More specific guidelines for these weekly assignments will be provided during the semester.
