概要

This course will develop more advanced academic composition skills in English, including referencing, research (library and electronic resources), and ethical use of AI in composition. As part of the course, students will produce a first draft of an original essay on the course topic, and then revise it in response to peer group and instructor feedback. In the second half of the semester, we will hold writing workshops, giving opportunities for one-to-one feedback on your work. By the end of the course, you should be able to write a 1,500+ academic essay in English with appropriate footnotes. There will be a final written exam, to check your English writing under exam conditions. * Students wishing to retake this course are required to email the instructor before the first class.
