ENGLISH SKILLS A-2【Hｸﾞﾙ-ﾌﾟ】*

概要

Through this course students will be given ample opportunity to develop their general English skills as well as their research and critical thinking skills. Building on the skills they developed in the first semester, students will be required to further develop their research skills in preparation for presentations and debates.

目標

By the end of this course students should have gained: 1) the ability to make meaningful contributions to class discussions 2) further skills in how to read critically and detect bias in writing 3) the ability to express their thoughts in academic English in order to persuade others 4) the research and media literacy skills necessary to prepare for a debate and pair presentation 5) further critical thinking skills

1) Read articles and prepare for discussions before class 2) Write up discussion results and reflections 3) Research a debate topic and prepare to argue a case 4) Research a topic in depth in order to prepare a presentation to the class
