概要

Entrepreneurship is often considered to be a crucial driver of economic prosperity and job creation around the world. As such, it is an important management subject, and there is a growing demand for entrepreneurial thinking and skills in various areas of working life. Acquiring foundational knowledge of contemporary entrepreneurship will benefit both students who consider starting their own venture (or working with one), as well as those who plan to enter other areas of work. Overall, this course aims to introduce students to the topic of entrepreneurship (with a special emphasis on innovative and growth-oriented entrepreneurship), by covering foundational concepts, the details of entrepreneurial process, and the significance of the wider context. In addition to acquiring foundational knowledge, students will also learn how to critically engage with the topic (e.g. by analysing case studies and by considering issues such as failure, international comparisons, ethics). Finally, students will nurture practical skills in entrepreneurial thinking, by working on a group project related to a business idea and learning how to use dedicated frameworks (e.g. Business Model Canvas).
