概要
This course is designed for the freshmen students in the SPSF program to learn about selected key topics in the broad discipline of management, to acquire skills in critically discussing those topics, and to get hands-on experience in gathering and presenting the analysis of their own research data. As such, the course builds on the Introduction to Management 1 content and gives students further preparation for effective learning and research in the Department of Management. The classes consist primarily of: (1) reading, analyzing, and discussing exemplary academic and business materials about selected key topics in management; (2) workshops about data gathering and analysis.
目標
(1) Gain knowledge on selected key topics in management. (2) Increase communication and critical thinking skills needed to analyze exemplary academic and business materials related to key topics in management. (3) Develop skills to use and reflect on selected research methods in management – including data gathering, data analysis, ethics.
授業外の学習
Students will need to work outside of class hours on reading designated texts, completing assignments and exercises, preparing the presentations, etc.
