経営英語Ⅰ

概要

This class is an introduction on how to use English in business. We will go over common themes relating to business through company case studies and research practice. We will look at how business happens, with a special focus on the beginning and growth stages of companies. Please note: This class will NOT teach you basic English. Students should already have a good understanding of reading and listening to English. This class will help you improve your Business English skills but is not going to teach you basic parts of English grammar. If you do not have a good understanding of English already, this class is NOT for you.

目標

It is my hope that by the end of this class, students will have a better understanding of not only business trends and issues in the world, but also on how to express their ideas in English as it relates to business.

授業外の学習

In order to understand how companies work and build a good working knowledge of Business English, students will look at case studies of companies that had to deal with major problems. Students will not only have to explain these problems but think of solutions to fix these problems. Additional assignments will include reading current news stories in business, writing opinion papers about them, and making presentations in class.
